Veterinary electrotherapy Singapore

TENS & NMES for pain and muscle support.

ARK uses mild electrical stimulation through carefully placed electrodes: TENS for pain relief and NMES for muscular weakness and controlled activation.

Every pet is assessed individually. Treatment suitability and outcomes vary by condition.

Veterinary TENS and NMES electrotherapy device used at ARK Singapore

Two forms of targeted electrotherapy

TENS and NMES both use a mild electrical current, but they serve different purposes. TENS is used for pain relief, while NMES is used when muscular weakness or controlled contraction is the rehabilitation focus.

A small battery-operated device sends current through electrodes placed on the treatment area. Depending on the selected programme, the pet may feel a gentle tingling sensation or experience a controlled muscle contraction.

Where TENS and NMES may fit

ARK lists arthritis, post-surgical pain, chronic pain, muscle-atrophy prevention, nerve-injury recovery, weakness and paralysis among the situations in which electrotherapy may support the wider plan.

The team chooses the placement and settings after assessment. Owners should not apply an electrotherapy device without case-specific guidance from a qualified professional.
